Cambridge Ice Dance
What is Ice Dance?
Ice Dance is an ice skating discipline that focuses on rhythmic movement and precision footwork to fit music, much like off-ice dancing would. It does not include jumps, spins and overhead lifts like Free Skating.
Skaters tend to follow set patterns on the ice while performing choreographed sequences, which also give the form the name Pattern Dance.
We would love to see you get involved with our Ice Dance events, whether you've just learned to skate or you're coming to the area from another rink!
Club Nights
Our 2024 Ice Dance season will begin from the Thursday 23rd May, and continue until early September.
Sessions consist of 45 minutes of coaching, focusing on edges and selected patterns dances, followed by 15 mins free practice to music (with coaches available to assist).
All ages and levels of dance experience are welcome, though skaters must be at least Skate UK Level 5. Session difficulty will be set to match attendees.
Exact dates and times can be found on our Club Calendar - please register to book onto our sessions.
Ice Dance Socials
We're delighted to both host and attend Ice Dance Socials, in concert with other Ice Dance clubs across the country.
These are traditional events in which skaters from all over the country will meet at a rink to mix-and-match dance partners.
Check out our Club Calendar and Latest News for upcoming Dance Social dates/announcements. Register with us to be notified of the next big social!
