Ice Dance is an ice skating discipline that focuses on rhythmic movement and precision footwork to fit music, much like off-ice dancing would. It does not include jumps, spins and overhead lifts like Free Skating.

Skaters follow set patterns on the ice while performing choreographed sequences, which also give the form the name Pattern Dance.
