Winter Gala 2024
Sep 28, 2023
The Cambridge Ice Skating Club and Cambridge Ice Arena's Winter Gala returns for 2024!
Once again, we will be shining the (festive) spotlights on Cambridge's skating talent. Solo, Pair, Group and Artistic programmes of any kind are welcome. The Gala will also provide opportunities for the rink's Learn To Skate and Coffee Skate groups to perform.
The Winter Gala will take place on Sunday 8th December, 14:45-18:00. Save the Date!
Perform Your Programme
Club Members can register their desire to participate by submitting our Programme Registration Form. The entry fee will be £15 per programme. Cambridge Skaters that aren't yet members of the club can Join Us for free before submitting their form.
Programmes must be submitted by 18:00 on Friday 1st November.
Please note:
Submitting a form does not guarantee you a slot in the Gala. We will follow up with all entrants as soon as we've drawn up the schedule following the closing date.

Perform with Learn to Skate or Coffee Skate
The Winter Gala will have special programme slots for group performances by the rink's up-and-coming Learn to Skate members and Coffee Skate regulars. If you're interested in joining one of these group programmes, please:
Register with the club if you haven't already (it's free!).
Submit the Programme Registration Form form above, indicating Learn to Skate/Coffee Skate as appropriate.
Inform the coach that leads your lesson/coffee skate that you wish to participate as well. Please ensure that you attend the rehearsal sessions for your group!
The club will be liaising with the coaches directly for these programmes. In advance of the event, you'll receive an email confirming your participation in a group performance and details on when to be ready for the performance.
There is no charge for being a part of the Learn to Skate or Coffee Skate performances, but you must have an active Cambridge Ice Arena Learn to Skate membership/have attended a recent Coffee Skate and the programme rehearsals.
Programme Allocation Priority
If we receive more entries than we are able to accommodate during the event, we use the following rules to allocate slots to skaters:
Festive and Group Programmes (i.e. fun routines involving 2+ skaters, regardless of skating level)
A primary Solo/Pairs programme (experienced skaters first)
Additional Solo/Pairs programmes (experiences skaters first)
Allocation will prioritise Cambridge-based skaters exhaustively, and then consider non-Cambridge skaters.
Join the Crowd
Spectator tickets are £7 each, and are now available from our Club Shop.
We operate a per-seat ticketing policy. Children under 5 years old do not require a ticket if they will be sitting on an adult's lap/not using a rink seat. However, children aged 5 and older must have their own ticket.
Tickets are limited by seating capacity and rink Fire/Building Regulations, so please purchase ASAP to avoid disappointment.
Note: Your email purchase receipt is your "ticket" - please have it ready to present at the door on the evening for quick entry.
Volunteers Wanted
Volunteers to help us run the event are asked to make themselves known to us ASAP. Tasks will include ticket checking, stewarding (since not all spectators will be familiar with the rink), runners and pad door/skater management.
Feel free to get in contact if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
