Call To Action: GCP Travel Hub Consultation - Have Your Voice Heard!

The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) is running an Open Consultation throughout October regarding plans to construct a new Transport Hub on Newmarket Road. These plans have the potential to impact the ease with which Cambridge Ice Arena patrons park at the rink, as the capacity of Newmarket Road Park and Ride (on which the rink is situated) might be reduced substantially.

Nothing is certain at this stage, and we encourage all readers to review the proposal in full. Nevertheless, the club wishes to appeal to all skaters, parents and Cambridge Ice Arena community supporters to ensure that their voices are heard, by submitting the GCP's Travel Hub Consultation Questionnaire and making it clear that you wish for the rink's parking capacity to remain intact.

The key areas to indicate support for rink accessibility are:

• Question 5 - "Leisure"

• Question 6 - "Ice rink"

• Question 13 - "I use the current P&R facility when going to the ice rink. I hope that any changes would not be detrimental for my access to the rink. I would not be able to walk from the new P&R to the ice rink."
